X-Ray Crystallography Services

Biolabs provides the most cost-effective X-ray
Crystallography services for determining three-dimensional structures of
proteins and other macromolecules. Equipped with state-of-the-art X-ray
diffraction data collection equipments and structure analysis software, we
specialize in the co-crystallization of target proteins with small
molecule compounds. Our unsurpassed capacity in the field allows a
full range of services including gene expression, protein purification,
macromolecular crystallization, X-ray characterization of crystals,
processing and quality analysis of data, structure determination,
molecular modeling, molecular docking and structure visualization and
analysis. Stage-wise services such as crystallization screening, in-house
X-ray diffraction data collection and structure determination are also
available upon request.
Gene Cloning and Protein
Expression Creative
Biolabs is equipped with state-of-the-art
fermentation systems for production of recombinant protein in E. coli,
yeast, baculovirus-insect, and mammalian cell systems. We will work
with you to determine the best protocol for your target protein. Our
laboratory is equipped with both traditional chromatography systems and
HPLC for large-scale protein purification. We test all purified proteins
for purity, aggregation state and activity using enzyme assays, dynamic
light scattering, UV spectrometry, mass spectrometry and amino acid
sequencing.
Crystallization Screening Creative
Biolabs can test the crystallization conditions
for freshly purified target proteins and compounds provided by clients.
We'll need approximately 10 mg of purified, concentrated protein for
initial trial using a general screen. We search for both conditions that
generate co-crystals (protein plus ligand) and those produce apo-crystals
for socking with ligand. If crystals are obtained, we will fine-tune the
conditions to generate diffraction-grade crystals. We will send you
pictures of the crystals as well as conditions for generating
them.
X-ray Diffraction Data
Collection Creative
Biolabs collect X-ray diffraction data using our
powerful in-house X-ray generator and send the data collected to our
customers.
Structure Determination Creative
Biolabs has extensive experience in structure
determination and can provide model building and refinement services based
on X-ray diffraction data collected. If the target protein has homologues
with known 3-D structure in the PDB, our crystallographers can use
molecular replacement method to build the model. Importantly we can also
solve de novo structures using multi-wavelength X-ray methods with data
collected using synchrotron sources. As evidenced by quite a few
publications by our staff scientists in top journals like Nature and
Science, we are professional in resolving the structure of membrane
proteins and other difficult proteins.
