Contactin 2, also known as TAX-1 or TAG-1, is a cell adhesion molecule belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily. It is primarily expressed in the nervous system and plays crucial roles in axon guidance, fasciculation (bundling of axons), and synapse formation during neural development. It is also involved in the organization of myelinated fibers.
