Enables fibroblast growth factor binding activity and laminin binding activity. Involved in negative regulation of fibroblast growth factor receptor signaling pathway and positive regulation of skeletal muscle cell differentiation. Located in extracellular matrix and membrane raft. Is active in synapse. Is expressed in several structures, including alimentary system; limb; metanephros; musculoskeletal system; and nervous system. Orthologous to human GPC1 (glypican 1).
