Background
NeuAcα2-6Gal is widely distributed as the terminus of the short Olinked oligosaccharide in mucin-type glycoproteins from human erythrocytes and human meconium. A remarkable accumulation of a few gangliosides having this terminal structure has been detected by this monoclonal antibody in some human cancers.
