CSTSMLKAC (Cys-Ser-Thr-Ser-Met-Leu-Lys-Ala-Cys) is a cyclic nine-amino-acid peptide (Cys1-Cys9 disulfide bridge) that mimics an endogenous sequence. It has been reported to specifically home to cardiomyocytes within the ischemic myocardium in animal models. This makes it a candidate for in vitro and in vivo research into cardiac-targeted molecular delivery strategies.
