Background

Nido-carboranes are a class of molecular compounds characterized by a three-dimensional cage-like structure comprising carbon and boron atoms. These unique molecules exhibit exceptional properties such as great thermal stability, biocompatibility, and chemical resistance. As a target, nido-carboranes have garnered attention for their potential applications in materials science, drug development, and catalysis. In materials science, nido-carboranes serve as building blocks for the construction of novel materials, including polymers and nanoparticles, due to their robust and versatile nature.
