| Introduction |
Mannose-binding lectin (MBL) is a lectin that recognizes carbohydrates (D-mannose and L-fucose residues) on the surfaces of pathogens, leading to the activation of complement lectin pathway. Anti-MBL autoantibodies can directly lead to MBL deficiency and complement activity inhibition. Studies indicate that anti-MBL autoantibodies contribute to the development of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). |
