Information
Introduction |
Complement Factor H is a protein with twenty short consensus repeat domains encoded by human CFH gene. It is a member of the regulators of complement activation family and is a complement control protein. It is a large (155 kilodaltons), soluble glycoprotein that circulates in human plasma (at typical concentrations of 200-300 micrograms per milliliter). Factor H is secreted into the bloodstream and has an essential role in the regulation of complement activation, restricting this innate defense mechanism to microbial infections. |
