| Introduction | Rabbit C3b is derived from purified rabbit C3 by cleavage with the alternative C3 convertase to release C3a. C3 is central in activating all three complement activation pathways. Initiation of each pathway results in the production of a proteolytic enzyme complex that binds to the target surface. These enzymes cleave peptide bonds in C3, releasing the anaphylatoxin C3a and activating C3b. |
