Phospholipid-transporting ATPase VA (ATP10A) belongs to the amino phospholipid transport ATPase subfamily. Creative Biolabs has been focusing on the development of high-quality ATP10A biomarker for years and now we provide one-stop ATP10A analysis services based on a variety of test platforms.
In eukaryotic cell membranes, IV P-type adenylate triphosphate (P4-ATPase), contain 10 transmembrane segments, mediated phospholipid transport from the outside to the inside, is essential for cell membrane transport and signaling pathways. Humans have 14 P4-ATPase enzymes, and members of the protein family have been linked to serious liver and nervous system diseases.
ATP10A is also one of the P4-ATPase enzymes, in humans is encoded by the ATP10A gene. And associated with the occurrence of Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS) and Angelman syndrome (AS) syndromes in humans, can transport glucose ceramide and participate in metabolic dysfunction.

ATP10A is transmitted to the plasma membrane through cell interactions. Studies have shown that ATP10A (E203Q) mutations lead to cell proliferation and morphological changes, which can be delayed by ATP10A overexpression. Abnormal expression of ATP10A may alter plasma membrane dynamics and make it associated with a variety of diseases, and these studies on the mechanism of ATP10A can further elucidate its pathogenic causes. The follow is some of the diseases associated with ATP10A.
ATP10A is thought to be involved in regulating body fat. Paternal inheritance ATP10A deficiency can lead to obesity, while maternal inheritance ATP10A deficiency can also lead to type 2 diabetes and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
ATP10A has also been linked to autism spectrum disorders (ASDs), a replication of the PWS/AS region containing ATP10A was found in some patients' brain tissue.
Loss of ATP10A expression was found in lymphocytes cultured from patients with Angelman syndrome (AS).
In recent years, the studies on ATP10A mainly focus on its plasma membrane dynamics mechanism and the pathogenesis of abnormal expression of ATP10A. The experiment mainly involved protein and gene analysis.
