Creative Biolabs is an undisputed leading provider of antibody development and generation services. Now, we provide in vitro diagnostic (IVD) antibody development services targeting various biomarkers of a wide variety of diseases. Especially, Creative Biolabs offers high-quality antibody development services for diagnostic applications targeting Hepatitis A virus (HAV).

Introduction of HAV

HAV is a single-stranded, positive-sense, nonenveloped RNA virus which belongs to the Picornaviridae family with six identified genotypes (I–VI). Infection with HAV is the commonest viral cause of liver disease and presents an important public health problem worldwide. It can be transmitted through contaminated food or water, and the most commonly reported source of infection is through person-to-person contact. Importantly, the extreme environmental stability of the HAV particle contributes significantly to its transmission. Furthermore, the disease severity is generally age-dependent which means that infections are usually mild or asymptomatic in young children, whereas at an older age, hepatitis A frequently presents with classic symptoms of acute hepatitis and a higher incidence of fulminant hepatitis.

Correlation of HAV and STDs

A sexually transmitted disease (STD) is defined as an infection for which transmission through sexual exposure is responsible for a substantial proportion of infections, either in the population as a whole or in a defined subpopulation. This definition is independent of the frequency of transmission by other routes, such as exposure to infected blood and vertical transmission in utero or during birth. As previously described, HAV can be transmitted by sexual practices that involve fecal-oral exposure, especially occurred in men who have sex with men (MSM). Some HAV infections are acquired through heterosexual exposure, but the overall epidemiology of HAV infection in heterosexuals is not significantly influenced by sexual practices or patterns of sexual behavior.

IVD Antibody Development Service Targeting HAV

IVD antibodies are widely used as important tools for the screening of numerous diseases. With abundant experience and advanced technology platform, Creative Biolabs has established a series of IVD antibody development services for our customers all over the world. Besides antibody generation, Creative Biolabs also offers diagnostic immunoassay development services, including feasibility analysis, assay design, assay protocol establishment, assay optimization, and kit production.
