Creative Biolabs is a world-leading service provider of application-specific antibody development. Here, we introduce our in vitro diagnostic (IVD) antibody development and immunoassay development services targeting the HLA-G5 protein. We are confident that our commitment to science and research will enable us to offer you the best products and services.

Introduction of HLA-G5 Protein

HLA-G histocompatibility antigen, also known as human leukocyte antigen G (HLA-G), is a protein that encoded by the human HLA-G gene. As a member of the nonclassical human leukocyte antigen (HLA) family, HLA-G is structurally diverse with many different isoforms, including HLA-G1~7. Indeed, the HLA-G5, -G6, and -G7 isoforms are highly unusual, as they are spliced variants of the HLA-G mRNA retaining introns 4 and 2. Initially, the expression of HLA-G was restricted to the maternal-fetal interface, on extravillous cytotrophoblasts. While in nonfetal healthy subjects, the HLA-G protein is found only on the cornea, thymic medulla, nail matrix, beta cells of the islets of Langerhans, mesenchymal stem cells, and endothelial precursors.

HLA-G5 Protein Marker of Sepsis

Sepsis is a leading cause of death in intensive care units across the world. Studies have suggested that HLA-G is able to modulate both adaptive and innate immunity by interacting with T or B lymphocytes and NK cells or polymorphonuclear cells. And HLA-G can inhibit all types of immune competent cells by the direct binding of both completely soluble and membrane-bound isoforms to inhibitory receptors via the α3 domain. Most importantly, the plasma level of HLA-G5 protein in patients with sepsis is significantly higher than that of normal people. Moreover, persistent HLA-G5 expression in septic shock is associated with survival. Under this condition, plasma level of HLA-G5 can be used as a potential marker for the detection of sepsis.

IVD Antibody Development Services for HLA-G5 Protein

Proteomic biomarkers have become popular during the past decade. With the rapid development of IVD technology, IVD antibodies have been used as important tools for the detection of numerous diseases, including but not limited to sepsis. Numerous candidate biomarkers were introduced as biomarkers for discrimination of indolent and advanced disease. With our versatile IVD platform, Creative Biolabs is proud to develop novel anti-HLA-G5 protein antibody from scratch to commercial IVD kit (we can also start with provided antibody candidates).
