Creative Biolabs is a leading service provider that focuses on polyclonal and monoclonal antibody development for research, diagnosis, and potential therapeutics. Based on our extensive experience and state-of-the-art platforms, Creative Biolabs now offers a series of biomarker-specific IVD (in vitro diagnostic) antibody development services to clients globally. We are confident that our commitment to science and research will enable us to offer you the best products and services. Here, we introduce our IVD antibody development services targeting Neisseria.

Introduction of Neisseria

Neisseria is a large genus of gram-negative β-proteobacteria that commonly found as commensals on animal and human mucosal surfaces, such as the nasopharynx or the genital epithelium. Most members of the Neisseria exist as small diplococci of approximately 0.6-1 microns that can also occur as monococci or, occasionally, tetrads. The two clinically relevant and most studied species are Neisseria gonorrhoeae and Neisseria meningitides. Infection of Neisseria meningitides can cause cerebrospinal meningitis and septicemia. However, Neisseria gonorrhoeae is the sole causative agent of the sexually transmitted infection gonorrhea and most gonococcal infections are asymptomatic and self-resolving.

Correlation of Neisseria and STDs

As the fifth most commonly reported infectious disease, there are over 106 million new infections diagnosed with gonorrhea annually. Studies have shown that the majority of gonococcal infections usually results from the transmission of N. gonorrhoeae through sexual contact. And the highest incidence of gonococcal infections among persons aged 15 to 24 years which is likely due to the increased numbers of sexual partners, decreased access to health care providers, physiologic ectopy of the squamocolumnar junction in women, and decreased use of barrier contraceptives. High prevalence of gonorrhea is also found among some subgroups of women with HIV infection, particularly among those who take illicit drugs or who practice sex for drugs. Furthermore, the gonorrhea prevalence of male homosexuals increased in recent years.

IVD Antibody Development Services for Neisseria

In recent years, IVD technology is undergoing rapid progress. Antibody-based immunoassays are the most commonly used diagnostic assays for the detection of analytes in the urine, blood, and tissue samples. Creative Biolabs offers a full range of high-affinity IVD antibody development services against various biomarkers to global clients. Especially, we offer IVD antibody development services targeting Neisseria. Besides antibody generation, Creative Biolabs also offers diagnostic immunoassay development services, including feasibility analysis, assay design, assay protocol establishment, assay optimization, and kit production.
