Creative Biolabs is a pioneer of antibody discovery and production. With our outstanding academic group and profound expertise in antibody development, Creative Biolabs has launched a full range of biomarker-specific in vitro diagnostic (IVD) antibody development services. Here, we focus on the respiratory syncytial virus (RSV).

Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV)

Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), a pneumovirus of the family paramyxoviridae, is an enveloped, non-segmented negative-stranded RNA virus. This virus is an important pathogen that infects people of all ages. But RSV is an important cause of hospitalization among children younger than 5 years of age. RSV is the most common identified virus in infants hospitalized for respiratory infections during winter epidemics, with hospitalization rates between 1 and 2 %. Although the epithelial cells of the respiratory tract are the major sites of RSV replication in vivo, several reports have shown that this virus can infect human monocytes and macrophages and modulate their activities.

RSV Marker of Respiratory Disease

Respiratory syncytial virus is playing a significant role in respiratory disease. The detection and application of biomarkers to assess the severity of viral lower respiratory tract infections, in particular RSV infection, may assist clinicians in the prediction of severe disease in children with bronchiolitis and may help to reduce the number of unnecessary hospitalizations or clinical deterioration after discharge. Furthermore, markers for disease severity are important research tools to study effects of interventions by new therapies or to stratify patients by disease severity.

IVD Antibody Development Service Targeting the RSV Marker

IVD antibodies are extensively used in immunodiagnostic kits for disease screening and therapeutic monitoring. Through our role as a leading antibody service provider, Creative Biolabs is well-positioned to develop high-quality RSV-specific antibodies for our clients. Besides antibody generation, Creative Biolabs also offers diagnostic immunoassay development services, including feasibility analysis, assay design, assay protocol establishment, assay optimization, and kit production.
