Creative Biolabs currently offers professional NHP disease model of allergic rhinitis and related service. With years of dedication, our scientific team has accumulated rich experience and set up multiple state-of-the-art technical platforms for animal modeling and preclinical studies. Notably, we are happy to introduce our featured NHP allergic rhinitis model to global researchers.

What is allergic rhinitis?

Allergic rhinitis is a type of nose inflammation that often occurs after direct contact with allergens in the air. Typical symptoms include runny nose, sneezing, itchy, watery red eyes and so on. Pathogenesis of allergic rhinitis is rather complicated, involving both genetic and environmental factors.

Advantages of non-human primates (NHPs) models

Animal models have been making remarkable contributions to the understanding of genetics and immune-mediated pathophysiology of allergic rhinitis. Non-human primates (NHPs) exhibit plenty of similarities with humans in terms of physiology, anatomy, neurology and many other aspects. In particular, NHP have highly human immune systems in contrast to other animal species, which makes them very suitable objects for preclinical research of immunity-related diseases.

Allergic rhinitis models provided by Creative Biolabs

Allergic responses or actions can vary to different allergens, adjuvants, dosage, and sensitization duration. We provide various options based on different requests:

  • Allergen: bovine serum albumin (BSA), ovalbumin (OVA), ascaris extract, SEA, etc.
  • Adjuvant: complete Freund's adjuvant (CFA), aluminum hydroxide gel (alum), lipopolysaccharide (LPS), bordetella pertussis vaccine, etc.

Sensitized animals can be created by either inhalation using intranasal, intratracheal or aerosol routes. Intranasal (IN) inoculation using micropipette or paper disk is a common method for allergic rhinitis model induction. We also provide a full set of endpoint measurements as follows:

  • Eosinophil infiltration in nasal mucosa
  • Serum level of allergen-specific IgE measured by solid-phase enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA)
  • Th2 cytokines (IL-4, IL-5, IL-13) and Th1 cytokines (IFN-γ, IL-12) levels measured by ELISA from the centrifuged serum and nasal lavage

As one forward-looking research institute as well as a leading service provider in this field, Creative Biolabs has made a long-term commitment to the development of world-class NHP disease models for various preclinical research programs. In addition to the immune system disease models, we have also built hundreds of NHP models including neurological disease, metabolic disorders, liver disease, urogenital disease, renal disease, etc. Meanwhile, we are also happy to tailor alternative models upon specific request.
