In Vitro ADME Service

Creative Biolabs offers services in the application of in vitro experimental systems to evaluate drug absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion.

Based on our state-of-the-art research, we seek to develop drugs by ADME studies. We are able to offer a broad range of in vitro ADME services and provide unparalleled experience and expertise in every area. Our company is a trusted partner and providing innovative research techniques, both biotech and virtual pharma.

In Vitro ADME

ADME aims to describe how a drug behaves in the human body. By focusing on ADME data, Creative Biolabs can improve the properties of a lead compound, predict good binding affinity compounds and select highly developable candidates with good bioavailability and safety. We run parallel automated potency screening during lead optimization process and provide services in the areas of the following:

Physicochemical Characterization

Physicochemical properties of drugs include the aspects of ionization, stability, lipophilicity, solubility, hydrogen bonding, molecular size, etc. Understanding and optimizing the physicochemical properties of compounds are the fundamental of drug formulation development. Creative Biolabs has extensive knowledge and experience in characterizing biopharmaceutical properties. Our professionality gives us valuable insight into formulation development and ADMET determination. Our physicochemical characterization services include:

  • Aqueous solubility
  • Lipophilicity
  • Stability

Permeability and Absorption

Drug absorption is the movement of a drug into the bloodstream. Many factors influence this process, including a drug's physicochemical properties, formulation, and route of administration. A drug's permeability across biological membranes is a key factor that influences the absorption and distribution. Creative Biolabs offers several in vitro methods to access permeability of drugs and predict drugs' in vivo absorption. Our research platforms include:

  • Dermal Absorption
  • Parallel Artificial Membrane Permeability Assay (PAMPA)
  • Caco-2 Permeability
  • MDR1-MDCK Permeability
  • Transporter Substrate Identification

Drug Distribution

Drug distribution describes the reversible movement of a drug from one location to another within the body. Usually, it refers to a drug transfer from the blood to various tissues. A drug has different penetration abilities to cross various tissue membranes which lead to the different volume of distribution. Creative Biolabs provides the following services to help our customers evaluate in vitro drug distribution:

  • Plasma Protein Binding
  • Blood Plasma Partitioning
  • Brain Tissue Binding
  • Microsomal Binding

In Vitro Metabolism Studies

After a drug entering the body for a certain time, it will be eliminated either by excretion or by metabolism to one or more metabolites. Metabolism usually occurs in the liver by CYP enzyme family, and in vitro drug metabolism is generally measured by the activity of enzymes contained in the cytochrome CYP450 superfamily. Creative Biolabs provides services of CYP reaction phenotyping as well as extrahepatic tissues, such as intestine, kidney, lung or skin. These assays are performed using multi-available enzyme sources and analyzed with our high-quality UPLC/HR-MS-instrumentation.

Our services include:

  • Metabolite Profiling and Identification
  • Metabolic Stability Assay
  • Extrahepatic Metabolism
  • Reactive Metabolite Analysis
  • Drug-Drug Interactions
