ComponentsThis kit is supplied with 96-well Cell Culture Microtiter Plates, DCFH-DA Probe, Free Radical Initiator, and Quercetin.
Target/DescriptionCells are initially grown in a 96-well black fluorescence cell culture plate until reaching confluency. Subsequently, the cells are treated with a cell-permeable DCFH-DA fluorescence probe dye and either the bioflavonoid Quercetin, or the antioxidant of interest. After a short incubation period, the cells are washed, and the reaction is initiated by adding a Free Radical Initiator. This compound generates free radicals that convert the probe into highly fluorescent DCF. Quercetin's impact on inhibiting free radical formation and subsequent DCF production is assessed in a dose-dependent manner.
