| Target/Description | The assay utilizes a fluorescein-labeled cyclic adenine monophosphate (cAMP-FAM) containing a phosphate group bound within the cyclic nucleotide structure. This small molecule rotates rapidly, resulting in low fluorescence polarization (FP). PDE2A enzyme acts on the cyclic nucleotide, cleaving the phosphodiester bond and releasing the phosphate group. Subsequently, the liberated phosphate group interacts with a specific phosphate-binding nanobead (Binding Agent), forming a large, immobile complex with increased FP.
