Specifications
Description
This molecule is a synthetic version of 1,2-diacylglycerol (DAG), an indispensable lipid second messenger primarily generated in vivo through the hydrolysis of phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate by phospholipase C (PLC). DAGs are fundamentally important as they potently activate the protein kinase C (PKC) family of enzymes. Activation of the PKC pathway is a central event in mammalian signal transduction, regulating crucial cellular processes such as cell proliferation, differentiation, survival, and tumor progression.
