Specifications
Description
1,2-Dipalmitoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine-N-oleoyl (N-oleoyl-DPPE) is a form of N-acylphosphatidylethanolamine and serves as a fundamental precursor within the endogenous cannabinoid synthesis pathway. The bioactive fatty acid amides are generated through the hydrolytic activity of the specialized phospholipase NAPE-PLD and subsequently degraded by the enzymes fatty acid amide hydrolase (FAAH) and N-Acylethanolamine acid amidase (NAAA). The enzymes involved in the turnover of these lipids represent viable pharmacological targets for therapeutic interventions aimed at inflammatory pain and various disorders of the central nervous system.
