The substance PtdIns(3,4,5)P3 3-phosphothioate, diC8 (also known as 3S-PtdIns(3,4,5)P3, diC8) is a synthetic, water-soluble counterpart of phosphatidylinositol 3,4,5-trisphosphate. This analog is engineered to have increased metabolic stability due to the replacement of the oxygen atom with a sulfur atom, creating a phosphorothioate linkage at the 3-phosphate position.
