Specifications
Description
This is a biotin-labeled version of phosphatidylinositol 3,4,5-trisphosphate (PIP3). PIP3 is generated from PIP2 by the catalytic activity of class I phosphoinositide 3-kinases (PI3Ks) and is a key second messenger that dictates cell fate. It is a master regulator of cell survival, proliferation, and metabolism, largely by recruiting and activating signaling proteins such as AKT. Its levels are strictly counter-regulated by phosphatases, like the tumor suppressor PTEN.
