Specifications
Description
This biotin-labeled compound is phosphatidylinositol 3,5-bisphosphate (PI(3,5)P2), a highly restricted and low-concentration phosphoinositide. Despite its minimal abundance, PI(3,5)P2 is absolutely essential for the dynamic regulation of the endo-lysosomal system, governing critical membrane trafficking between lysosomes, late endosomes, and the Golgi. It is also implicated in the regulation of the bulk degradation process known as autophagy. The biotin tag is provided to assist in the reliable detection and functional analysis of this niche signaling lipid.
