Description
DHPS, or 1,2-Dihexanoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoserine, is a derivative of the anionic phospholipid phosphatidylserine (PS). In healthy cells, it is predominantly situated on the inner leaflet of the plasma membrane. Its outward migration to the cell surface leaflet signals the onset of apoptosis and is a widely utilized marker in programmed cell death assays, often in conjunction with Annexin V.
