Dotap chloride

DOTAP chloride (1,2-Dioleoyl-3-trimethylammonium-propane chloride) is a highly effective synthetic cationic lipid that readily self-assembles into stable, positively charged liposomes in solution. These liposomal formulations are widely used as non-viral vectors for the transient or stable delivery (transfection) of anionic macromolecules, including DNA plasmids, RNA oligonucleotides, anionic proteins, and small peptides, into eukaryotic cells.
