Specifications
Description
This fluorescently tagged compound is a conjugate of sphinganine with the fluorophore fluorescein. It is specifically designed for use in fluorescence-based assays to analyze the synthesis and intracellular processing of cellular lipids. Sphinganine, which is also referred to as dihydrosphingosine, is a critical precursor molecule within the de novo sphingolipid synthesis pathway. It is biosynthesized from a reaction catalyzed by 3-Ketodihydrosphingosine Reductase (KDHR).
