GlycoErase™ GANC Knockout CHO-K1 Cell Line (CAT#: GLJF-0825-JF281)

Datasheet
SizeQtyAdd To Basket
1 M cells/vial*2

Description GlycoErase™ GANC knockout CHO-K1 cell line is a CHO-K1 model lacking GANC expression. GANC encodes a glycosyl hydrolase that cleaves terminal alpha-D-glucose residues, playing a key role in glycogen metabolism. Its genetic locus has been linked to diabetes susceptibility. Knockout of GANC in CHO-K1 enables studies of glycogen regulation, diabetes-associated pathways, and carbohydrate-processing enzymes, supporting metabolic disease research and therapeutic exploration.

Handling Notes Upon receipt, this product must be immediately transferred from dry ice to liquid nitrogen (-150°C to -190°C) and stored in a liquid nitrogen tank. Cell viability is critically dependent on proper handling. We cannot guarantee viability if these instructions are not strictly adhered to.
Product Disclaimer This product is provided for research only, not suitable for human or animal use. Due to the inherent limitations of infectious agent testing, investigators must exercise extreme caution when handling cells provided by Creative Biolabs, treating all cells as potentially biohazardous.
Target GANC
Full Name Glucosidase Alpha, Neutral C
Location 15q15.1
Gene ID 2595
Summary Glycosyl hydrolase enzymes hydrolyse the glycosidic bond between two or more carbohydrates, or between a carbohydrate and a non-carbohydrate moiety. This gene encodes a member of glycosyl hydrolases family 31. This enzyme hydrolyses terminal, non-reducing 1,4-linked alpha-D-glucose residues and releases alpha-D-glucose. This is a key enzyme in glycogen metabolism and its gene localizes to a chromosomal region (15q15) that is associated with susceptibility to diabetes. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
