Description SLC35A1 knockout HepG2 cell line lacks SLC35A1 protein, solute carrier family 35 member A1, transporting nucleotide sugars (CMP-sialic acid) into the Golgi of liver cells. SLC35A1 knockout in HepG2 cells allows investigation of nucleotide sugar transport disruption in liver cancer, potentially affecting Golgi glycosylation in hepatocytes, sialylation of hepatic glycans, and glycosylation-dependent processes in liver tumor cells.
