Description GlycoErase™ SLC37A4 knockout Jurkat cell line is a Jurkat model in which SLC37A4 expression has been eliminated. SLC37A4 encodes the ER glucose-6-phosphate transporter that shuttles G6P into the ER lumen to sustain glucose homeostasis and also contributes to ATP-driven Ca²⁺ sequestration. The knockout provides a targeted system to investigate glycogen storage disease mechanisms, ER-glucose flux, and calcium-metabolism coupling, supporting applications in metabolic disorder research, transporter biology, and therapeutic screening.

Summary This gene regulates glucose-6-phosphate transport from the cytoplasm to the lumen of the endoplasmic reticulum, in order to maintain glucose homeostasis. It also plays a role in ATP-mediated calcium sequestration in the lumen of the endoplasmic reticulum. Mutations in this gene have been associated with various forms of glycogen storage disease. Alternative splicing in this gene results in multiple transcript variants.
