1 M cells/vial*2

Description GlycoFlux™ human GYG2 overexpression Jurkat cell line is a stable cell line overexpressing glycogenin 2 (GYG2), a liver-predominant glycogenin that catalyzes the initial self-glucosylation step in glycogen biosynthesis. Its X-linked nature links it to sex-specific glycogen regulation. This model supports studies of hepatic glycogen storage, glucose homeostasis, and glycosyltransferase-related regulation in immune cells.

Availability Status Made to order
Handling Notes Upon receipt, this product must be immediately transferred from dry ice to liquid nitrogen (-150°C to -190°C) and stored in a liquid nitrogen tank. Cell viability is critically dependent on proper handling. We cannot guarantee viability if these instructions are not strictly adhered to.
Product Disclaimer This product is provided for research only, not suitable for human or animal use. Due to the inherent limitations of infectious agent testing, investigators must exercise extreme caution when handling cells provided by Creative Biolabs, treating all cells as potentially biohazardous.
Target GYG2
Full Name Glycogenin 2
Alternative Name GN2; GN-2
Location Xp22.33
Gene ID 8908
Summary This gene encodes a member of the the glycogenin family. Glycogenin is a self-glucosylating protein involved in the initiation reactions of glycogen biosynthesis. A gene on chromosome 3 encodes the muscle glycogenin and this X-linked gene encodes the glycogenin mainly present in liver; both are involved in blood glucose homeostasis. This gene has a short version on chromosome Y, which is 3' truncated and can not make a functional protein. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
