1 M cells/vial*2

Description GlycoFlux™ human HK1 overexpression CHO-K1 cell line is a stable glycoengineered line that constitutively overexpresses hexokinase-1, converting glucose to glucose-6-phosphate at the mitochondrial surface. Increased G6P entry enhances pentose phosphate and hexosamine pathways, enabling controlled boosts in UDP-GlcNAc/CMP-Neu5Ac supply, with applications in optimizing complex N-glycan branching, sialylation, and redox-sensitive secretion.

Availability Status Made to order
Handling Notes Upon receipt, this product must be immediately transferred from dry ice to liquid nitrogen (-150°C to -190°C) and stored in a liquid nitrogen tank. Cell viability is critically dependent on proper handling. We cannot guarantee viability if these instructions are not strictly adhered to.
Product Disclaimer This product is provided for research only, not suitable for human or animal use. Due to the inherent limitations of infectious agent testing, investigators must exercise extreme caution when handling cells provided by Creative Biolabs, treating all cells as potentially biohazardous.
Target HK1
Full Name Hexokinase 1
Alternative Name HK; HKD; HKI; HXK1; NMSR; RP79; HMSNR; CNSHA5; HK1-ta; HK1-tb; HK1-tc; NEDVIBA; hexokinase
Location 10q22.1
Gene ID 3098
Summary Hexokinases phosphorylate glucose to produce glucose-6-phosphate, the first step in most glucose metabolism pathways. This gene encodes a ubiquitous form of hexokinase which localizes to the outer membrane of mitochondria. Mutations in this gene have been associated with hemolytic anemia due to hexokinase deficiency. Alternative splicing of this gene results in several transcript variants which encode different isoforms, some of which are tissue-specific.
