Description GlycoFlux™ human PCK1 overexpression HepG2 cell line is a stable cell line engineered to express cytosolic phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase 1 (PCK1), a gluconeogenic enzyme converting oxaloacetate to phosphoenolpyruvate with GTP. This reaction represents a key control point in hepatic glucose production, regulated by hormones such as insulin and glucocorticoids. Mutations cause PCK1 deficiency and fasting hypoglycemia. This model is highly relevant for studies of gluconeogenesis, diabetes, and energy homeostasis.
