1-Stearoyl-2-hydroxy-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (LysoPC, LPC) is produced by the removal of the sn-2 fatty acyl group from phosphatidylcholine. This compound is a significant oxidized low-density lipoprotein component and plays a part in numerous inflammatory and cardiovascular pathways. Additionally, it functions as a substrate for Autotaxin/LysoPLD, producing lysophosphatidic acid, which is an important signaling lipid in cell motility.
