Phosphatidylinositol 4-phosphate diC16 (PI(4)P diC16) is a synthetic, purified dipalmitoyl PI(4)P. Phosphoinositides (PIPns) are minimal components of cellular membranes but are critical signaling molecules. PI(4)P is the biosynthetic precursor for PI(4,5)P2 and plays key roles in regulating sphingomyelin and glycosphingolipid metabolism and membrane trafficking as molecules exit the Golgi complex.
