Thawing & Handling Instructions
1. Thaw the serum slowly at 2-8 °C. Thawing at elevated temperatures is not recommended, as it may result in serum turbidity, increased precipitation, and compromised product quality.
2. During thawing, gently mix the serum intermittently (avoid vigorous shaking or bubble formation) to ensure uniform temperature distribution and homogeneity, thereby minimizing precipitate formation.
3. After complete thawing, the serum should be used as soon as possible. Repeated freeze-thaw cycles should be avoided to maintain product integrity and biological performance.
4. Do not leave the serum at room temperature for extended periods. After use, promptly return the product to 2-8 °C storage conditions.
5. Improper handling, including high-temperature thawing, vigorous agitation, repeated freeze-thaw cycles, or prolonged exposure at room temperature, may lead to a decline in serum quality and should be strictly avoided.
Quality Control
Each lot of CellElite™ FBS is subjected to comprehensive quality control testing, including:
• Endotoxin
• Osmolality
• pH
• Pathogen screening
The product is confirmed to be free from bacteria, viruses, mycoplasma, and other microbial contaminants.
Shipping
Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS) is shipped frozen on dry ice to maintain product integrity. Temporary exposure to refrigerated conditions (2-8 °C) during transit may be acceptable; however, prolonged thawing or repeated freeze-thaw cycles should be avoided.
Storage
Upon receipt, store FBS at ≤-20 °C for long-term preservation. For extended storage, -80 °C is recommended. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles by aliquoting if necessary. Thaw serum slowly at 2-8 °C and mix gently before use. Do not refreeze once completely thawed.
