Description
Cyto-d fixative is specially prepared for the collection and fixation of sputum specimens. Our fixative modification combines the coagulating fixation qualities of alcohol with other fixation enhancements to produce better fixation of the nucleoplasm, nucleoli and cytoplasm.
Cyto-d has a preservation-blocking function, blocking all degenerative processes, both through enzymatic autolysis and with alterations due to contaminants, in particular bacterial microorganisms, fungi or parasites.
Soft hemolysis function, for specific permeabilization of the erythrocyte membrane, without significant alteration of the membrane structures of other cell types. A function of mild muculosis.
Traditional mucolytic solutions are prohibited due to changes affecting both cytotemporal morphology and antigenic sites.
Soft mucolysis is initially intended for bronchial and digestive brushing. It was found to be very useful for cervical specimens
Application Ready-to-use fixative for fluid cytological samples, especially for mucous excretions. The fixative causes blood cell lysis and makes proteins and mucus insoluble, preparing the sample for subsequent centrifugation and filtration
