Background

Recently, engineered cancer cells are promising therapeutic methods that kill tumor cells themselves and stimulate the immune system to both destroy primary tumors and prevent cancer. Self-destruction cancer cells are genetically manipulated to express costimulatory molecules, cytokines, and chemokines. These cancer cells allow for a greater variety of antigens to be presented to the immune system. The rich choice of antigenic targets increases the likelihood of a successful immune response.
