FaDu is a cell line with epithelial morphology that was established in 1968 from a punch biopsy of a hypopharyngeal tumor removed from a 56-year-old, White, male patient with squamous cell carcinoma. This cell line is a suitable transfection host and has applications in cancer and immuno-oncology research.

Tumorigenicity is defined the property of a cell to form tumors when inoculated into an immunosuppressed animal model.
