PNPP (p-nitrophenyl phosphate, disodium salt) is a widely used substrate for detecting alkaline phosphatase in ELISA applications. It is recommended for both endpoint and kinetic determinations. The reaction of pNPP ELISA Substrate with ALP results in a yellow, water-soluble product with an absorbance that can be read at 405 nm.
