Background
The P2Y12 receptor was discovered and cloned in the late 1990s. It was classified as a GPCR based on its sequence homology and functional characterization as a receptor for ADP. P2Y12 receptors are predominantly expressed in platelets, where they play a pivotal role in regulating platelet aggregation and thrombus formation. They are also found in other tissues, including the central nervous system (CNS), where they have roles in synaptic transmission and neuroinflammation.

Frozen cells should be stored in a liquid nitrogen tank (-150°C~-190°C). After thawing, cells should be immediately transferred to the appropriate culture medium and maintained under recommended culture conditions.
Handling Notes
Frozen cells should be thawed immediately upon receipt and grown according to handling procedure to ensure cell viability and proper assay performance.
Note: Do not freeze the cells upon receipt as it may result in irreversible damage to the cell line.
