Description
The HEK293-Tg(Human RANK)-NF-κB Luc reporter cell line is a human embryonic kidney cell line that has been engineered to express the human RANK gene and a luciferase reporter gene under the control of the NF-κB pathway. RANK (Receptor Activator of Nuclear Factor κB) is a protein that plays a key role in regulating the NF-κB signaling pathway, which is involved in various cellular processes including inflammation, immune responses, and cell survival. This cell line can be used to study the activation of the NF-κB pathway in response to RANK signaling, as well as to screen for potential drugs or compounds that modulate this pathway.

Background
The RANK gene, also known as TNFRSF11A, codes for a protein called Receptor Activator of Nuclear Factor Kappa-B (RANK). RANK plays a crucial role in regulating bone metabolism and is essential for osteoclast differentiation and function. Mutations in the RANK gene have been associated with various bone disorders, such as osteopetrosis and Paget's disease of the bone. The RANK gene is considered to be of high importance in the regulation of bone health and is therefore ranked as a significant gene in the field of bone biology.

Storage
Frozen cells should be stored in a liquid nitrogen tank (-150°C~-190°C). After thawing, cells should be immediately transferred to the appropriate culture medium and maintained under recommended culture conditions.
Handling Notes
Frozen cells should be thawed immediately upon receipt and grown according to handling procedure to ensure cell viability and proper assay performance.
Note: Do not freeze the cells upon receipt as it may result in irreversible damage to the cell line.
