The HEK293-Tg(Human TLR8)-NF-κB Luc reporter cell line is a cell line derived from HEK293 cells that has been engineered to express human Toll-like receptor 8 (TLR8) and a luciferase reporter gene driven by the NF-κB promoter. TLR8 is a pattern recognition receptor that recognizes single-stranded RNA and activates signaling pathways that lead to the activation of the transcription factor NF-κB.

Background
TLR8 (Toll-like receptor 8) is a gene that encodes a protein involved in the immune response to bacterial and viral infections. TLR8 is a member of the Toll-like receptor family, which recognizes pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) and triggers the release of inflammatory cytokines. TLR8 is primarily expressed in immune cells such as monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells. Mutations in the TLR8 gene have been associated with susceptibility to certain infections and autoimmune diseases. Research on TLR8 continues to uncover its role in the immune system and its potential as a target for therapeutic interventions.

Virological Safety Testing
A broad range of viruses is susceptible to affecting human cell lines. We can provide in vivo/vitro virus safety assays by utilizing various animal systems. These viruses include: adventitious viruses, bovine viruses, human and simian viruses, porcine viruses, retrovirus and rodent viruses.

Storage
Frozen cells should be stored in a liquid nitrogen tank (-150°C~-190°C). After thawing, cells should be immediately transferred to the appropriate culture medium and maintained under recommended culture conditions.
Handling Notes
Frozen cells should be thawed immediately upon receipt and grown according to handling procedure to ensure cell viability and proper assay performance.
Note: Do not freeze the cells upon receipt as it may result in irreversible damage to the cell line.
