Human CD14+ monocytes from cord blood are a type of immune cell that is derived from stem cells in the umbilical cord blood of newborn babies. They express the CD14 protein on their cell surface, which is a marker for monocytes. These cells can differentiate into macrophages and dendritic cells, which are also important components of the immune system.

Monocytes are a type of white blood cell (leukocytes) that reside in your blood and tissues to find and destroy germs (viruses, bacteria, fungi and protozoa) and eliminate infected cells.
