Short Description
Creative Biolabs offers Jurkat-Tg(Woodchuck PD-1)-NFAT Luc reporter cell line which the PD-1 gene stably expressed in NFAT Luc reporter Jurkat cells.
Description
The Jurkat-Tg(Woodchuck PD-1)-NFAT Luc reporter cell line is a cell line derived from Jurkat cells that have been genetically modified to express a woodchuck PD-1 gene and a luciferase reporter gene under the control of the NFAT promoter. This cell line is commonly used in research to study the regulation of the PD-1 signaling pathway and its effects on T cell activation and function.

Background
The PD-1 gene, also known as programmed cell death protein 1, is a gene that encodes a protein found on the surface of T cells and other immune cells. PD-1 plays a crucial role in regulating the immune response by inhibiting T cell activity and preventing autoimmunity. However, overexpression of PD-1 can also suppress the immune response against cancer cells, allowing tumors to evade detection and destruction by the immune system. Therapies targeting PD-1, such as checkpoint inhibitors, have been developed to block the interaction between PD-1 and its ligands, releasing the brakes on the immune response and helping the body's immune system to attack and eliminate cancer cells. These treatments have shown significant success in treating various types of cancer, including melanoma, lung cancer, and lymphoma.
