Description
Researchers at the Creative Biolabs have developed an Luciferase-labeled mouse CT26 cell that allows for intravital imaging to evaluate anti-cancer agents in Colon cancer. Furthermore, the Luciferase-labeled mouse CT26 cell is helpful in assessing the tumor- take to select mice for treatments groups based on equivalent tumor burden.

Sterility Testing

Identity Testing
Identity testing is required for newly established cell lines. Isoenzyme analysis is used to confirm the identity of the species of a cell line. Alternative methods for identity testing include DNA fingerprinting, STR analysis and karyology.
Virological Safety Testing
A broad range of viruses is susceptible to affecting human cell lines. We can provide in vivo/vitro virus safety assays by utilizing various animal systems. These viruses include: adventitious viruses, bovine viruses, human and simian viruses, porcine viruses, retrovirus and rodent viruses.

Mycoplasma Testing
The cell line has been screened using the luciferase based mycoplasma detection kit to confirm the absence of mycoplasma species.

Storage
Frozen cells should be stored in a liquid nitrogen tank (-150°C~-190°C). After thawing, cells should be immediately transferred to the appropriate culture medium and maintained under recommended culture conditions.
Handling Notes
Frozen cells should be thawed immediately upon receipt and grown according to handling procedure to ensure cell viability and proper assay performance.
Note: Do not freeze the cells upon receipt as it may result in irreversible damage to the cell line.

Mycoplasma Testing

Mycoplasma contamination is detected by using a PCR Mycoplasma Test Kit. The kit utilizes the polymerase chain reaction (PCR), which was established as the method of choice for highest sensitivity in the detection of mycoplasma and acholeplasma contamination in cell cultures and other cell culture derived biologicals.
The results showed that the cell line was negative for Mycoplasma.

Luciferase Testing

The luminescence intensity was detected by Bright-GloTM luciferase Assay system (Promega, Cat E2610).
