This assay is to provide Jurkat-based In Vivo Metastasis Assay to accelerate our client's oncology projects. The assay will be customized according to the specific requirements. Please contact our scientists to discuss more details.
Target Cell Name
Jurkat
Target Cell Organism
Human
Target Cell Background
The Jurkat cell line (originally called JM) was established in the mid-1970s from the peripheral blood of a 14-year-old boy with T cell leukemia. Different derivatives of the Jurkat cell line have been mutated to lack certain genes.
Related Diseases
Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia; ALL
Research Area
Oncology
Assay Name
In Vivo Metastasis Assay
Short Description
Jurkat-cell based In Vivo Metastasis Assay
Assay Description
Metastasis is defined as the formation of tumors that are discontinuous from the primary tumor. These secondary tumors can be at nearby or distant sites and can form, following the dissemination of cells via lymphatic, hematogenous, coelomic cavities, or epithelial cavities. Metastasis is not equivalent to invasion, adhesion, growth rate, susceptibility to immune cell killing, or any of the many steps in the metastatic cascade. These processes are necessary for successful colonization of the secondary sites, but they are not sufficient for a cell to be metastatic. Analysis of tumor growth and metastasis of human cancers requires the use of immunodeficient animals. Please contact us to learn more and offer the best-fit proposals for your program.
