Target Cell Name
L1210
Target Cell Organism
Mouse
Target Cell Background
L1210 is a cell line exhibiting lymphoblast morphology that was isolated from the skin of an eight-month-old, female mouse with lymphocytic leukemia, developed after skin paintings with 0.2% methylcholanthrene in ether. This cell line was deposited by EM Jensen and can be used in immune system disorder research.
Related Diseases

Assay Name
In Vitro Calcein AM Cytotoxic Assay (Cell Viability)
Short Description
L1210-cell based In Vitro Calcein AM Cytotoxic Assay (Cell Viability)
Assay Description
Calcein AM is another non-fluorescent cell permeable dye, which is converted to green-fluorescent calcein by viable intracellular esterases. Calcein violet AM, calcein red-orange, Oregon green 488 and 5-CFDA-AM are other examples of dyes used to monitor cell viability based on esterase activity in viable cells.
Assay Type
Cell Viability/Cytotoxicity and Antiproliferative Assays
Assay Type Details
Uncontrolled proliferation is one of the main features of cancer cells. Cell-based in vitro assays are employed to determine whether test molecules possess direct cytotoxic/antiproliferative effects in cancer cells.
Assay Subtype
Cell Viability Assay
Assay MOA
Cell-based Viability Assays Based on Cellular Enzymes and Proteins
