LoVo is a cell lines isolated in 1971 from the large intestine of a White, 56-year-old, male with grade IV Dukes C colorectal cancer patient. LoVo cells can be used for cancer, toxicology, and immuno-oncology research.

Tumorigenicity is defined the property of a cell to form tumors when inoculated into an immunosuppressed animal model. Generally, test cells and tumor cells as positive control are administered subcutaneously into immunosuppressed nude mice. The number of animals developing tumors are compared with a positive control reference cell line.
