MOLT-4 is a T lymphoblast cell line derived from the same patient as the MOLT-3 cell line. The line was established from cells taken from a 19-year-old, male patient with Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) in relapse. This cell line can be used in immunology and immune system disorder research.

Tumorigenicity is defined the property of a cell to form tumors when inoculated into an immunosuppressed animal model. Generally, test cells and tumor cells as positive control are administered subcutaneously into immunosuppressed nude mice. The number of animals developing tumors are compared with a positive control reference cell line.
