Assay Type: Cell Viability/Cytotoxicity and Antiproliferative Assays
Assay Overview
This assay is to provide NCI-H596-based In Vitro EdU Assay (Cell Proliferation) to accelerate our client's oncology projects. The assay will be customized according to the specific requirements. Please contact our scientists to discuss more details.
Target Cell Name
NCI-H596
Target Cell Organism
Human
Target Cell Background
The NCI-H596 cell line was derived by A.F. Gazdar and H. Oie in 1983 from a tumor mass in the chest wall of a patient with adenosquamous carcinoma of the lung. The specimen was obtained prior to therapy.
Related Diseases
Adenosquamous Carcinoma
Research Area
Oncology
Assay Name
In Vitro EdU Assay (Cell Proliferation)
Assay Description
5-Ethynyl-2'-deoxyuridine (EdU) can easily be com bined with DNA during replication. Unlike the BrdU assay, the EdU assay is rapid, sensitive and does not require previous denaturation of the specimen.
Assay Alternative Names
5-Ethynyl-2'-deoxyuridine (EdU) Assay
Assay Type
Cell Viability/Cytotoxicity and Antiproliferative Assays
Assay Type Details
Uncontrolled proliferation is one of the main features of cancer cells. Cell-based in vitro assays are employed to determine whether test molecules possess direct cytotoxic/antiproliferative effects in cancer cells.
